Our Team

Thomas A. Peterson, MBA
Founder, President & CEO
As the Founder of ISEEB, he began working on its formation in the summer of 2013. Thomas A. is an entrepreneurial construction practitioner & experimenter who, since 1978, has researched, designed, constructed, and promoted high energy efficient home construction – – which he began referring to in writing as SEE in 2007.

He holds a BSBA ‘71 from Southeastern Massachusetts University, where he majored in Business Management, while also taking some introductory Engineering courses. He also holds an MBA ’73 specializing in Marketing from Tulane University in New Orleans.
He began his business career doing Marketing Research for five years in the Northeast U.S. In 1979 he began his construction experience by starting Solar Design & Construction and building an experimental home for himself in the Portland, Maine area. That home was used to explore Super-Insulation, Active Solar, and Passive Solar principles.
He also taught college courses full-time & part-time in Marketing & Management for the equivalent of 5 years full-time at St. Joseph’s College and the University of Southern Maine. He also developed and taught Export Seminars in Canada for various Canadian Government Programs.

Thomas A. researched and perfected several double-wall and ICF building techniques for new homes. His research continued as to how to address existing housing, which is a much more complicated task to undertake. In 2012, in an attempt to reach out and educate the home & building owning public about the multiple and diverse benefits of SEE buildings, he wrote the book, “SEE” The EMPOWERING Energy Solution (2nd Ed. pending).

ISEEB is the natural conglomeration of his diverse experience and knowledge.

David A. Miller, BA, CAE

CAE Outreach Coordinator

David is the newest member of the ISEEB team having joined in early 2016. He brings a unique and diverse set of skills to ISEEB along with a deep personal interest in promoting energy efficiency.

David received a Certificate in Applied Energy from the University of Southern Maine (USM) in 2015, which focused on the principles of energy efficiency as it relates to Building Science in both residential and commercial buildings. That program concentrated on the science behind all forms of renewable energy and passive energy saving techniques, as well as their importance in fighting climate change and curbing society’s dependence on fossil fuels. He also worked on projects using geographical information systems (GIS) to collect and analyze spatial data as it related to global energy issues.

David also received a BA in Anthropology in 1996 from Pennsylvania State University, followed by some graduate research work in applied medical anthropology at the University of Colorado – Denver. That experience focused on using qualitative research methods to address public health problems. David also has experience in the techniques of community-based social marketing to foster sustainable behaviors by identifying barriers that inhibit behavior change.

David has additional work experience in sales, management, and customer service in the hospitality industry. He hopes to use all of his experience in helping ISEEB spread its message.
